ROLLING MILL MES SYSTEM

Material Tracking and Performance Monitoring

The items in the schedule cannot be mixed in the rolling process. The tracking starts from the billet charging and end at the bundle or coil weighing and ticketing.

The system automatically counts the billet that is pushed out the reheat furnace and into the rolling mill. It tracks the billet at the reheat furnace, rolling mill, QA control, Shearing, Stacker and bundling/Ticketing.

All information collected during the rolling process is recorded against the cast in the schedule. This will ensure the product produced can be traced.

The tracking system can log

  • The start and end time of each batch rolling (cast)
  • Billets charged and rolled
  • Cobbles
  • Charge Weight
  • Number of bundles or coils
  • Produced weight
  • Prime weight
  • Random material weight
  • Scrap material weight
  • Prime yield and total yield
  • Shift production summary
  • Rolling speed (m/s, TPNH and TPAH)
  • Gap time (between billets)
  • Number of billets rolled each hour and best hour
  • Availability
  • Actual ‘R’ factors during rolling
  • Gas and electricity consumption
  • Rolling temperature
  • Recovery temperature
  • Tensile and weight per meter
  • SPC data on product dimension
  • SPC data on weight per meter
  • SPC data on defect
